Toronto, London, Tokyo and Sydney: a four-continent map sequence
AlbumMap, 2026; geographic renderer adapted from Geographical Adventures by Sebastian Lague, with the data and imagery credits below.
Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 2.5 Generic

Applies to: world-demo.mp4, world-demo-poster.webp
Original four-stop sequence, camera movement, numbered markers and procedural regional passenger-jet symbol. Source terrain and star data are rendered into an illustrative globe, with no claim of an observed flight track.
Credit the named creators and sources, link the licence, identify changes and share adaptations under the applicable ShareAlike terms. Keep this record with a separate copy. Public-domain source material retains its status; this notice adds no restrictions to it.
No endorsement by the upstream creators, NASA or the data providers is implied.

The upstream renderer maps colour textures onto a globe and modifies terrain height, including reducing some small-island heights. Camera, shading and rendering further transform the display.
The upstream project credits NASA for land colour and topography. Its height-source note names this collection. An exact observation date or edition for each local texture is not supplied, and no current satellite view is claimed.

City-light texture: NASA Earth Observatory

Declared in the upstream credit menu and local source note; the actual texture is bound in the terrain material. The old article URL now redirects to the general Earth Observatory section, so it does not establish a specific dataset edition. The example uses always-daylight framing.

Country shapes and city-location data: Natural Earth contributors

Public domain

Geographic information is incorporated into the globe renderer. The four example city coordinates and their approximate-locator scope are separately recorded in world-demo-settings.json.

Flags are drawn as small map labels. They do not indicate endorsement or any travel authorization.

The renderer omits the Sun, selects 8,912 stars of magnitude at most 6.5, converts right ascension and declination to directions, normalizes brightness and applies a colour gradient. The visible star field is a rendered adaptation.
Version-specific terms for HYG 2.x/3.x are used. The repository current-version 4.0 licence is not substituted for the local version 3 data.

Rendered city-label lettering: The Montserrat.Git Project Authors

SIL Open Font License 1.1

City names are rasterized into the movie. No font file is included. The OFL document-output exception preserves the separate status of the font software.

Numbered marker lettering: Microsoft Segoe UI
https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/typography/fonts/font-faq
Four fixed numbered badge pictures are generated on Windows and used in the movie. No font file, font conversion or reusable character font is included.
